Small Beginnings Hosts Successful Easter Music Workshop with Support from MAC
The recently concluded Small Beginnings Easter Music Workshop for Children was a success.
Founder of Small Beginnings, Mr. Herman “Cupid” Francis, facilitated the workshop with the assistance of Delroy Joseph Jr.
The workshop, which was financially assisted by the Montserrat Arts Council, was attended by thirty (30) music students aged 8 to 15 years old. Mr. Francis conducted the 7-day music workshop which offered classes in violin, cello, clarinet, flute, keyboard and drums at the Brades Primary School. Although COVID-19 restrictions prevented the customary recital to conclude and showcase skills learned at the workshop, video clips of students performing can be viewed here.
Director of the Montserrat Arts Council, Mr. Kenneth Silcott expressed his satisfaction with the work being done. “The importance of music as a part of our culture cannot be denied. We at the Montserrat Arts Council were happy to be able to assist Small Beginnings in covering the costs associated with putting on the Easter Music workshop for these young musicians to learn new skills and further hone their craft.”
